How to apply for coursework extensions or special circumstances
The steps below show the process you will follow. You can start the process by clicking 'Start application'.
To see applications you have in process click 'View my applications' where you can access each of your applications to see the status and which step in the process you are on.
Tell us what happened
We need to know what happened and when so that we can confirm whether a coursework extension, special circumstance or both are available to you.
Start applicationSelect affected courses and assessments
Once you have told us what has happened you can select courses to view available support types for coursework and exams.
How have your studies been affected?
For special circumstances applications only
We need to know more detail about the impact of the situation on your ability to study.
You should consider if different assessments have been impacted in different ways.
Provide evidence
For special circumstances applications only
If you apply for a special circumstance you will have the opportunity to provide evidence that supports your application.
Do you have an adjustment for coursework extra time?
If you have learning adjustments regarding extra time for assessments or a dissertation you should access your schedule of adjustments to apply these to your assessment.
This is not the route for extra time in exams. Extra time for exams is arranged by the exams team if you have the relevant adjustments on your schedule of adjustments.
To access your schedule of adjustments, follow the below link to your EUCLID portal and select 'Disability Support' from the side menu.
Do you need to talk to someone?
The best people to support you are the staff in your school. Talk to your school for advice, guidance and direction to other University Services, such as Counselling and Disability.
